Earth Day - "Backyard Adventures"

In celebration of Earth Day I thought I would do some yard work this morning! So I took my camera outside and took some pics of beautiful flowers and plants growing wild in my yard. I woke up at 5:00 this morning to some very loud, very noisy ducks talking in my backyard. NOISY! They live in our backyard...I caught them sunbathing right next to this tree a few days ago.

This was not here last year! Is this morning glory? Don't know where it came from, but it's going to be hard to get rid of.

SNAKE!

I knew it! I knew I would find one in my yard! I picked up the tarp that we use to cover the grill, and this snake was hiding under it. Okay, I know it's just a baby but it gave me a heart attack! That's what I get for trying to celebrate earth day. He kept sticking his tongue out at me....he was mocking me. I could tell. He was.

I saw the "Bee Movie" so I know bees are important.....but how annoying are they? They live outside my sliding door so every time I open it, they surround me! I think that's enough yard work for this month.

  1. Lys, with those kind of animal friends in your yard you sure don't need any enemy kid of animals, reptiles, bugs, etc. Had I seen that snake I know I would have had a heart attack. I would be afraid to let the kids go outside. I wouldn't go out again. You better have Aaron set some traps on the other side of the fence or call animal control for you area. That's scary. There must be something someone can do. I hope I don't ever see one of those things. Love Mom B.

  2. You were composed enough to take a picture? Wow Lys! Bryan and I have been clearing tons of weeds and they're so high that I keep worrying we'll find a snake but so far so good.
